Congratulations on the purchase of your brand new Kolter home! We are honored to share this exciting milestone with you and look forward to working with you throughout the design phase of your journey.
One of the most important and exciting phases in purchasing a new Kolter home is the selection of products and finishes which will complete your home, and make it uniquely yours. Your KOLTERHOMES team is excited to offer a wide array of high-performing product choices, updated on a regular basis, to bring you time-tested classics as well as the latest trends. While working directly with our knowledgeable and professional Design team, you will be expertly guided through each step of the personalization experience. Together we will create a home which reflects your lifestyle needs and your design aesthetic.
During your Design Studio appointments, you will have our undivided attention. Please arrange to attend all appointments for their duration; you will be making important decisions which will affect you and your family for years, and you will want to give these decisions your full attention. In preparation for this exciting phase in your home buying journey, and to ensure the best experience possible, please note the following information and suggestions.

Design Studio Orientation Tour
The Design Studio Orientation tour is a unique educational opportunity to learn about the products available in our KOLTERHOMES Design Studio so you can make confident and informed decisions when selecting finishing and performance products for your new Kolter home. It is necessary for you to attend a Design Studio Orientation prior to your initial Design Studio appointment.
- Design Studio Orientation tours are coordinated by your New Home Guide. During this 1.75-hour orientation, one of our expert Design Coordinators will provide a 1-hour guided tour of our Design Studio along with a 45-minute self-guided exploration and:
- present the variety of products available to you,
- provide education on the various products and how they will perform in your new home,
- familiarize you with the Design Studio environment,
- guide you in finding the information you need, how to use the Design Studio and how to navigate, and
- provide an overview of how to prepare for your initial Design Studio Selection appointment by using your KOLTERHOMES Design Guide.
- Click here for your KOLTERHOMES Design Guide. Have fun becoming familiar with some of the key product categories and begin to identify your favorites. Use the Design Guide Wish List form to keep a running list of any favorites, questions or comments, in preparation for your appointment.
- Your KOLTERHOMES Design Guide will share ‘How to Prepare’ for your Design Studio appointment by reviewing:
- Cabinets to establish desired finish or color of cabinetry,
- Cabinet Hardware to review available options,
- Countertop material(s) and desired pattern and color range,
Design Studio Selection Appointments:
- You will meet with your Design Consultant on two separate occasions:
- During your Design Studio Selection Appointment, we will begin by reviewing the selections you’ve previously authorized with your New Home Guide, such as elevation and structural options. We will also get to know you and your vision for your home, and share some recommendations based on your needs. Together, we’ll select some of the key elements of your home such as cabinets, countertops and other important items for your kitchen and bathrooms, as well as flooring and paint.
- At the Design Studio Selection Review & Authorization Appointment, we will finish personalizing your home by selecting your interior trim, interior paint color, stair and rails (if applicable), interior door hardware, and any remaining items not addressed on day one. At the end of this appointment, you’ll authorize and finalize your personal selections, and when you are done, you’ll be able to envision living in your uniquely personalized home.
- We know that you are excited about the many personal selections you will be making, and so are we!! If you would like to gain advice or share the excitement with friends, family members, or other advisors such as interior design professionals, we welcome their presence at the Design Studio Orientation Tour prior to your Design Studio Selection & Design Studio Review and Authorization Appointments. Design Studio Selection & Authorization appointments are for Registered Buyers only. During the Design Studio Selection Appointment, it is necessary for your Design Consultant to review many details with you; your concentration is vital as these selections are final and YOU will be living with them every day. Friendly reminders as you prepare for your appointment:
- Please visit our fully furnished and merchandised model homes prior to your appointment. Our models homes will provide design inspiration, display available features and finishes in an actual home setting, and bring the layout of your home to the forefront of your mind. Our models are available to you 7-days a week.
- Be sure to get a good night rest and eat a healthy breakfast on appointment days. Kolter Homes will provide snacks, beverages and coffee for your enjoyment throughout your appointment(s). For full day Design Studio appointments, we will provide you with light lunch and a short intermission mid-day.
- Please bring samples of fabrics or other materials you will be using in your new home, which might assist you in selecting the right colors/finishes and products.
- Dress comfortably for your Design Studio Appointment. We will be working with many samples, and moving throughout the Design Studio, and we want you to enjoy this wonderful experience in comfort.
- Come prepared for fun, learning, celebration. In order to take advantage of your Design Consultant’s expertise, and make full use of your appointment time, please arrive on time, plan to stay for the entire duration, and avoid interruptions such as texts, phone calls and emails.
Design Appointment Attendees
- We know you want to share this exciting experience with your friends or family members, and to get their advice and support. You’re welcome to share and discuss your digital Design Guide with your friends and family members or to bring them to your in-person Design Studio Orientation Tour so that together you can enjoy exploring the many included and available personal choices offered here at the Kolter Homes design studio. Design Appointments are strictly reserved for contracted purchasers and hired design professionals only. This gives you the ability to get advice prior to making decisions, as well as the freedom to make your own decisions without outside interference.
- Please note children under the age of 16 are not permitted in the Design Studio. Our first priority is always children’s safety and while children are welcome at the studio, the Design Studio contains many heavy and sharp objects which can be dangerous to children under 16. Additionally, there may be other people in the studio at the same time as you are visiting. If you are caring for children under the age of 16, please make childcare arrangements. As previously noted, you will be making important decisions which will affect you and your family for years, and you will want to give these decisions your full attention. This will also enable you to fully enjoy this rare experience to create the home of your dreams.
- Only "service animals" may attend scheduled appointments. Pets or "emotional support animals" that are not "service animals" may not attend scheduled appointments.
