3. Apply caulk. Hold the caulk tube at a
45-degree angle to the surface. Push the
tube along the crack to fill it with caulk.
Pushing the tube, rather than pulling it, fills
the gap without trapping air bubbles.
4. Break the caulk bead by twisting the caulk
tube and pulling it back.
5. Smooth the caulk by running a finger along
the joint.
HOME TIP: Caulk often is applied with a
caulking gun. Follow instructions on the
gun when loading the tube.
HOME TIP: Apply caulk when the air
temperature is between 50 degrees
and 70 degrees.
